Cookie Policy

What cookies we set, how our consent manager works and how to change your mind at any time. Last updated: August 2026.

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit worlddatalab.com. We use a small number of them to run the site, to understand how our research is read, and, only if you allow it, to measure our marketing. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set before you make a choice.

1. How our consent manager works

We use Silktide Consent Manager as the single place where your cookie choices are recorded and enforced. On your first visit a banner appears with three options: accept all, reject non-essential, or open preferences and switch the Analytics and Marketing categories on or off individually.

  • Before you choose, only essential cookies are set. Analytics and marketing scripts are not loaded at all - they are injected by Silktide only after you accept the matching category.
  • Rejecting non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting: both are single buttons on the first banner.
  • Your choice is stored per category and reapplied on later visits, so we do not re-prompt you on every page.
  • A small cookie icon stays in the bottom-right corner of every page so you can reopen the preferences panel at any time.

2. What HubSpot tracking does

HubSpot is our CRM and marketing platform. It powers the contact, report download, webinar and newsletter forms on this site, and - only with your Analytics consent - its tracking script.

  • Forms: when you submit a form, the details you type (such as name, work email, company and job title) are stored in HubSpot so we can send the requested report or reply to you. This happens because you submitted the form, with or without cookie consent.
  • Tracking script: loaded only after you accept Analytics. It sets a hubspotutk visitor cookie plus session cookies, records the pages you view, and links that history to your contact record if you later submit a form.
  • Advertisement features in HubSpot are enabled only if you also accept Marketing.
  • We mirror your Silktide choice into HubSpot's own consent state, and HubSpot's separate cookie banner is suppressed so there is one consent decision, not two.
  • If you reject or later withdraw consent, HubSpot consent is revoked and the tracking script is no longer loaded on subsequent visits.

HubSpot acts as our processor. See the HubSpot privacy policy for details on their own processing.

3. Cookies we use, by category

4. How to withdraw or change your consent

You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.

  • Use the button below, or the cookie icon in the bottom-right corner of any page, to reopen the preferences panel and switch categories off.
  • Turning a category off stops the related scripts from loading on your next page view and revokes the matching HubSpot consent.
  • You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, or block them entirely. Clearing cookies removes your stored choice, so the banner will appear again.
  • To object to processing, or to ask for data already collected to be deleted, email us and we will action the request.
